28 California Community Colleges added Google AI training into instruction, the top 45 students were selected out of 4,000 to envision and build AI-First Apps and videos using Google AI Studio that address challenges that can only be solved with AI.

EcoLoop is an AI-powered sustainability app that helps users properly recycle items through computer recognition, then directs them to verified nearby drop-off locations based on local recycling rules. The app offers real-time eco-nudges, a point-based reward system, and a community hub to encourage consistent eco-friendly behavior. Our goal is to make sustainable living easier, more accessible, and more engaging while helping cities meet waste-reduction and climate targets.
